Architectural proposal

Situated within the traditional settlement of Sternes in Akrotiri, Chania, this project comprises four independent two-story residences with basements and private swimming pools. Respecting the urban fabric and human scale of the village, the architectural concept deconstructs the built mass into staggered volumes recessed from the street edge.

The masterplan responds to the natural slope across two primary terraces, orchestrating a deliberate spatial dialogue: a protected, introverted street-facing elevation contrasted by expansive openness toward panoramic sea views. Robust local stone partition walls articulate the private realms, providing visual shelter and thermal mass between adjacent units.

Outdoor living is centered around private linear pools, timber sun decks, shaded dining pergolas, and native landscaping that preserves the existing olive trees. Inside, expansive corner glazing invites uninterrupted daylight, while a warm palette of natural wood, stone surfaces, and tactile, earth-toned renders delivers a serene atmosphere of understated Mediterranean luxury.
